Many people worry a lot when it comes to caring for their plants. When we talk about house plants, there is no reason for concern. There are few things you should consider.
1. Irrigation
Overwatering kills most houseplants. Looks can be deceiving to see so if your soil is dry enough to water, try to test with your finger. Place your index finger to the first joint into the ground. If the soil is moist, it can not water.
2. Feeding
Plants usually have high nitrogen needs, while flowering plants, K2O is needed. Slow release fertilizers can be mixed with the compost. However, certain plants like cacti and orchids need special fertilizer. Feed plants during their most active growth phase.
3. Lighting
Plants such as Sanseveria and Aspidistra require no SE can be placed in a window. Spider plants need semi-shade. You can put plants like these near a window that does not do that or get sunlight. Check the label to see what your investment needs.
4. Temperature
Houseplants can survive in cool or warm temperatures, but drastic fluctuations in temperature may not be good for them. One thing that most plants can not survive is gas heating. If you is a plant that warm conditions, do not do it near an air conditioner in summer.
5. Humidity
Some indoor plants need a moist environment. One tip to maximize moisture to the pot in a larger pot and fill in the gaps with stones or compost to hold moisture. Grouping plants together often leads to a microclimate that they will benefit. If you wish, you can with water once or twice per day, depending on temperature.
6. Repot
Some plants require re-potting for optimum growth, but there are others who do evil, which disrupted their roots. Or their roots system may be so small that they do not require re-potting. One way to check whether your plant needs repotting is to put it on the head. Tap the pot for the plant, the release and check its roots. If roots are all you see, then repot. Sometimes the roots are coming out of the pot. It should either cut them out and repot the plant.
You need to have only a little care for your plants and in return, you will benefit from it. Indoor plants not only add to the beauty of your body, but also give much pleasure to the indoor gardener.
